Fiona & Michael married last Saturday at Rudding Park Hotel near Harrogate and it was an honour to capture their day as their wedding photographer. I arrived early to take some shots of the wedding details, such as their decorations and flowers in the Wedding Breakfast room, then wandered around taking candid shots of their guests arriving. We were all then treated to an amazing classical singer and pianist, as Fiona and Michael entered their wedding ceremony together. I was both surprised and impressed to see Fiona's choice of wedding dress colour - a woman after my own heart! I love it when people abandon tradition and do what suits them!
The ceremony was relaxed, with lots of laughter. The singer and pianist performed again whilst the register was signed, and after a few formal portraits of them and their witnesses, Fiona & Michael were handed their marriage certificate. They paused to enjoy the music, before exiting the room as husband and wife!
A champagne reception followed, allowing them time to be congratulated by their friends and family, before a few formal portraits. The weather was pretty bad by this point (British summer time?!), so we used the gorgeous staircase in the hotel. Fiona, Michael and I then took a wander around the hotel to do a few portraits of them as a married couple, before I left them to celebrate with their guests and enjoy the live music of the band.
A shame about the rain at the crucial time (the sun came out as I left!), but a gorgeous wedding none the less. Congratulations Fiona & Michael and thanks for choosing me to capture your day!
